Animal Concern Hotline Flyer
Animal Care & Use Program
| Approval Date:
August 29, 2018 12:00 am
The University of Michigan is strongly committed to the humane care and use of animals in research, testing, and teaching. Any member of the faculty, staff, or public having reason to question the treatment of animals at U-M should report any suspected case of animal abuse, misuses, or mistreatments per the instructions in the attached flyer.
The identity of anyone (the ‘whistleblower’) making an anonymous report will be held in strict confidence. Federal laws prohibit discrimination or reprisal for reporting violations of standards and regulations promulgated under the Animal Welfare Act.
Any member of the U-M community or the public can report concerns of discrimination or retaliation through resources described in the University of Michigan Standard Practice Guide (SPG) #601.90 – Protection from Retaliation, or through the Animal Concern Hotline (http://animalcare.umich.edu/report-animal-concerns).
